A VO2 film-based multifunctional metasurface in the terahertz band

We proposed a multifunctional terahertz metasurface based on double L-shaped pattern and vanadium dioxide (VO2) film separated by polyimide. When the VO2 is an insulator, dual-band electromagnetically induced transparency effect obtained, physical mechanism investigated current distribution “two-particle” model. metal, linear-to-circular polarization converter, in which y-polarized linear wave can be effectively converted to left-handed circularly polarized (LCP) right-handed simultaneously different bands, achieved. By arranging metal rotating 30°, antenna obtained. radiation of LCP divided into four beams, with two beams reflected transmitted. metallic state, we only get co-polarized 21° angle. Moreover, our design, does not need lithography obtain certain patterns, improves convenience fabrication experiment. Our design opens new way for development devices has potential applications communication field.
